The proximity architectural reader has been designed to fit discreetly and stylishly into installations where aesthetics are paramount. The reader is manufactured using high quality materials and has three high intensity LEDs. Consists of two main parts, the reader and the insert. Two standard types of insert are available – glass and stone. We can supply the dimensions of the insert to allow the use of other non-metal materials (see the insert drawing in the web links box on this page). This gives limitless possibilities of installing a reader that is truly sympathetic to its environment.

Please note, the proximity architectural reader inserts are sold separately and do not come supplied with the reader.

We have added Genuine HID Technology to the majority of our readers and they can now read HID 125kHz proximity tokens, when licensed with an activation card. If required, these readers can still be enabled to have Wiegand output, via a separate activation card.

Installation – The architectural reader is designed to be partially sunken into the wall and is fitted using a backbox that is provided as part of the product.

Suitable for use with Switch2 and Net2 systems and wired using the colour coding on the control unit label.

Operation – A token is read by holding it within close proximity of the reader. Once a token has been read the control unit looks up the access permissions of that user. Access is granted or denied as appropriate. If access is granted the reader LEDs show green. If access is denied the reader LEDs show red. At other times they maintain a constant white light.
